| Abstract: | On April 18, Saul Villatrevino, a fellow at the Center for Advanced Studies, reported that Mexico has only 0.6 scientists per 10,000 inhabitants, compared to 50 per 10,000 in the US. Villatrevino noted that the Education Ministry (SEP) has invested $168,000 in special programs for training of scientists, a sum he called "insufficient." (Source: Notimex, 04/18/91) |
